One Piece TCG ban list

Updated October 4, 2026

The official banned and restricted list for the English One Piece Card Game is published by Bandai on en.onepiece-cardgame.com. This page copies it, with the effective date of each entry, and was last checked on October 4, 2026.

Bans apply to official and sanctioned tournaments. In a casual game at home you can play whatever your group agrees on. Banned cards still have collector value, because the ban only covers deck building.

The restricted category, where a card is limited to a set number of copies, is empty at the moment.

Dracule Mihawk is announced but not yet in force. Until October 12 it is legal. Bandai says it plans to hand out a Leader version with new text, P-163 Dracule Mihawk, at future events as a replacement. Bandai did the same for Nami, with P-117 Nami.

The Re-Quasar and Borsalino pair started on April 10 in North America, Europe, Latin America and Oceania. Bandai notes that other regions, Japan included, use a different date.

Why these cards were banned

Bandai’s notices give a reason for each one.

  • Dracule Mihawk: certain combinations became stronger than planned as more boosters came out, and the card limits every Leader with the Slash attribute.
  • Charlotte Pudding: it undermines the hand size mind game that Bandai considers the appeal of the game, and sat in many Blue decks as an answer to big hands.
  • Nami: the Nami Leader deck grew far stronger than intended and constrained future Blue draw cards.
  • Gecko Moria: a single play created a large gap in Characters on the field, and Bandai judged a matching 8-cost card hard to design.
  • Trafalgar Law: it combined removal with playing Characters from hand and had the highest win and usage rate of any Leader.
  • Reject: the 1 damage effect made Yellow decks, which often rely on Trigger effects, too good at finishing games.
  • Luffy with Katakuri or Linlin: the pairing covered the Luffy deck’s intended early game weakness.
  • Re-Quasar with Borsalino: the loop made games much longer than Bandai expected.

Check a card before you trade for it

A banned card can still be worth money, since the ban only covers tournament decks. If you are buying a card for a deck, check its ID against the table above first. The card ID is printed at the bottom right of the card, in the form OP06-047. You can scan a card with BountyScan to read its ID and see its market price in one step.

Frequently asked questions

What cards are banned in the One Piece card game right now?

Five cards are banned today for sanctioned play in the English game. They are OP06-047 Charlotte Pudding, OP03-040 Nami, OP06-086 Gecko Moria, ST10-001 Trafalgar Law and OP06-116 Reject. OP14-020 Dracule Mihawk joins them on October 12, 2026. Three banned pairs are also in force, and no card is on the restricted list.

What is a banned pair?

A banned pair is two cards that can each be played alone but cannot be in the same deck. Bandai introduced the system on August 30, 2025. Both cards of a pair are legal in a deck as long as the other one is left out.

Do banned cards include the alt art versions?

Yes. Bandai's notices mark these cards as "parallel cards included", so an alt art, manga or other parallel printing of a banned card is banned too. Cards with a different card number are separate cards, for example the promo P-163 Dracule Mihawk that Bandai plans to hand out as a replacement leader.

How often does the One Piece ban list change?

Bandai says it usually announces revisions twice a year, once after Championship Season 1 in Japan and once after the World Championship. It can also act sooner if one card is hurting the game. Cards can also come off the list when the environment changes, as six did in April 2026.
